Hello to all the Jones family & friends,

Linda has rented the Godley Park District Recreation Hall on Saturday, July 26, 2014 from 11:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. for the reunion. I will get a map and directions uploaded soon. The hall will not be available before 11:00 a.m. and we need to be cleaned up and out no later than 6:00 p.m.

We will plan on serving lunch around noon as it may take us some time to get things set up.

We can plan on having leftovers around 4:30 p.m. if we have any left.

 

The Facility:

  • Handicapped accessible

  • Air conditioned facility for up to 80 people

  • Access to running water

  • Indoor bathrooms

  • Access to electricity

  • Access to the kitchen, if needed

  • Tables

  • Chairs to use inside

  • Playgrounds

  • Ball fields (I am not sure of they have any scheduled games that day.)

  • Dog Park

  • Deer Park & Miniature Sicilian Donkeys & Friends (Please refrain from "hand feeding" processed human or animal foods to the deer and donkeys per request from the park.)
     

 


 To be provided by Dave & Linda:

  • Plates

  • Plastic ware

  • Plastic drinking cups

  • Napkins

  • Dave’s Smoked Pulled Pork

  • Buns for making pulled pork sandwiches

  • Sweet Baby Ray’s BBQ sauce

  • My Homemade BBQ sauce

  • Cole Slaw

  • Hash Brown Potato Casserole



 What you need or may want to bring:

  • Drinks for yourself and anyone with you (Alcohol is NOT permitted. We have not gotten a permit or insurance for this.)

  • Your photo albums or digital photos to share (You share them with a jump drive. We will have laptop there.)

  • A USB cord to download photos from your phone. (Charging cord if you might need it.)

  •  Camera or phone to take pictures.

  • Video camera

  • Your recipes

  • A dish or dishes to pass

  • Lawn chair if you want to sit outside

  • As many of your family as you possibly can

  • Dogs can attend if kept on leash

  • Current addresses, phone numbers, emails, birth and/or death dates, anniversaries, etc. of any family or friends that you might have, for anyone  not able to attend so we can keep the family tree and information updated. and for future mailing information.

Please take the time to inform all family and friends, due to the cost of mailing everyone an invitation and not having current addresses for many. No written invitations will be sent this year. Please help spread the word!

Donations will gladly be accepted to help with the hall rental cost for the day and postage and expenses to be used for the next reunion.

We can provide our large gas grill, upon request, if anyone wants to grill anything while we are there. Please let Linda know so we can bring it with us.

Linda plans on making one more cookbook, the third edition, hopefully be the end of the year but definitely before we have a reunion in 2015. The cost for Jones family & friends to be determined by the purchases of toner, paper, folders or binders and postage, if mailed. I will be making these at home. I expect nothing for my time from family members. If you missed out on the last two, you may want to reserve the next one by letting me know. I plan for each of my grandchildren to have one so they will have a little piece of the Jones family to use in the future.

If you have any original recipes hand written by an older member of the family, I would really appreciate a copy (scan) of those to include in the cookbook.


Lastly, Mom (Helen) is the last one of her generation. Please try to attend because family has always been very important to her. None of us know when our time is scheduled to end. It would mean a lot to her to get to see everyone one more time. I believe that this is something that the younger generation needs to see happen on a regular basis.
